ESSEX COUNTY — The Essex County Sheriff’s Officers Crimestoppers program is offering separate $10,000 rewards for information about Christmas Day homicides in Newark and Irvington.
Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call (973) 877-TIPS.
In the first, the 34-year-old son of the owner of Slick’s Go-Go Bar, a 32-year-old bouncer and a 27-year-old Newark man were killed after an intoxicated man who tried to enter the Irvington business opened fire when a dispute broke out before 1 a.m. Two other men were also hospitalized in that shooting.
That evening, a 13-year-old girl taking out the garbage and a 14-year-old boy were killed by stray bullets on Schley Street in Newark. A 15-year-old boy was injured in that attack.
Authorities said this morning they are pursuing leads in both case.
